Hi! I’m Elena, the DIY, design, and home decor enthusiast behind A Purdy Place! I’m a non-profit professional by day, and a DIY’er by night (and weekends, and some early mornings if I’m being totally honest with myself ha!). My Grandmother instilled in me a love for all things creative and DIY when I was just a kid, and I proudly carry that with today.
My husband and I bought our first home together in Florida about 10 years ago and slowly but surely fixed it up. After selling that house, we moved to the Washington, DC metro, and about two years ago we purchased a new construction townhouse! While totally new, it definitely lacked some character upon move-in, so one room and DIY project at a time, we’re making it our own.
